This week we met in the CSULB Japanese Garden to do some fast sketchings. Unfortunatly the weather was not the best – at least campared to what i’ve experienced so far of the californian weather – and the light and shadows where low in contrast. So i decided to do more twodimensional and reduced drawings, concentrating on the flow of the lines.
Espacially for the 30 second sketches that worked out well and I tried to really stick to these 30 seconds. For the 5 Minute drawing I sketched a tree that i liked and tried to add some different textures and shadows.
The abstract sketch came out as a duck that sleeps with his head hidden underneath one wing. I really like the shape and how it looks like a mix between a flame and a drop of water.
